Birmingham & Black Country Wildlife Trust
July 2025 - April 2026
Wild Walsall is a large scale nature recovery and engagement project lead by the Birmingham & Black Country Wildlife Trust.
I worked with the trust to support the research and development phase of the project, connecting with local communities, individuals and organisations across Walsall to inform mapping and activity planning towards the delivery phase of the project.
In a series of consultation events, which involved collaborating with artists and writers we creatively responded to Walsall’s landscapes with the public to better understand how this impacts upon wellbeing, community and the barriers towards being in relationship with local green spaces and habitats. Some of the activities programmed included:
- Mapping and seedswapping at whg Rosehill Community Garden.
- Wildlife Photograohy workshop and walk with Alishah Iqbal on Pelsall Common.
- Creative rambles with Walkspace across Rough Wood, Bloxwich and Goscote.
- A poetry walk and workshop with the Poets Prattlers and Pandemonialists in Willenhall.
- Crafting wassail talismans at Caldmore Community Gardens.
