An enquiry exploring how narratives of place may be translated through making and thinking together. The Gathering Press is in residence at CoLab Dudley on Dudley high street.
This interweaves with CoLab Dudley’s wider network around counter-mapping, bioregioning, and re-imagining our relationships with the land. As a point of enquiry, the residency will consider the shape of commoning in our current political, social, environmental climates and the role of printmaking in these endeavours.
Further to this, the bioregional learning networked convened to produce our first printed ‘Bioregional Bundle’ a practice inspired by environmental education organisation, Planet Drum, in the 1970s in which bundles were “conceived to spread planetary information - a “voice for the planet,” and to have production/publishing decentralised, passed around among activities in various locales” each bundle was seen as a ‘beat of the drum.’
